Our position

A home battery is an $8k–$15k decision with long warranty horizons and meaningful technical trade-offs. Most buyers get information from an installer pitching a single brand, or from national calculators that don't model the Synergy A1 tariff, DEBS export rates, or the WA Battery Scheme cap.

We compete on clarity, not urgency. Our job is independent decision support: the same numbers a careful buyer would build for themselves. As rebates taper and the choice gets harder, that role becomes more useful, not less.

Market context

Since 1 May 2026, federal battery incentives include STC capacity tapers that reduce the rebate per kWh for larger systems. Our platform doesn't depend on the rebate; if anything, narrower incentives raise the value of neutral guidance, because the margin for a wrong sizing decision gets thinner.

The underlying complexity stays the same with or without policy change: pricing variability between brands, shifting VPP terms, grid reliability questions, and a ten-year-plus ownership horizon. We've built for that, not for the rebate cycle.
